Best Sleeping Positions and Direction

In my current blog i want to address the direction in which a person or child need to sleep as per Indian Vasthu and also about most sleeping positions by a common men/women/child.

Directions:

The direction of the head while sleeping is given great importance in Indian Vastu. The prescriptions are as follows.
                   1. Adults should sleep with the head towards South or East
                   2. Children should sleep with their head towards East
                   3. Guests are allowed to sleep with their head towards the West.
                   4. Sleeping with the head towards the North direction is totally prohibited as per Indian Vasthu.

Sleeping in the wrong direction can also cause health problems. Vasthu Sastra recommends that the head must be placed towards the east for undisturbed sleep. The second best sleeping direction is with the head towards the west, the third choice is south.

Directions and its implications:

North:  The Vasthu sleeping position with head in the North direction is strongly opposed. It might cause major illnesses and sleepless nights for the person sleeping in such a position.
South: Indian Vasthu highly recommends this direction as your usual sleeping position with head towards the South. This is believed to provide sound sleep and increase the wealth and prosperity in the household.

East: Sleeping with head resting in the East enhances memory, health and spiritual inclination. It is usually advised by Vasthu Shastra Consultants to plan the children's room in such a way that their Vastu sleeping direction comes out to be east. This leads to higher concentration and retention power.
West: This is not a very advisable sleeping position. Vaastu Shastra says sleeping with head resting in West might cause disturbed sleep due to nightmares, some major illness and tendency towards violence.

Sleeping Positions:

There are 6 common sleeping positions, namely:

1. Fetus

2. Log
3. Yearner

4. Soldier
5. Freefaller
6. Starfish

"The Fetus" is the most common position, with the sleeper lying curled up on their side. It is said to reflect someone with a tough exterior shell but a soft, sensitive core.

"The Log" position is that of someone lying on their side with their arms down. "Log" sleepers are sociable and outgoing, but gullible.

"The Yearner" sleeps on their side as well, but with their arms stretched out in front of them. This positions tends to reflect a cynical straight shooter: someone who is hesitant to commit or trust but once they do, they're all in and mean business.

"The Soldier" position is on the back with the hands at the side. This is a common one for more reserved, less dramatic folks.

"The Starfish" is the least common position, but when you find a "Starfish" sleeper, hang onto them! This position is associated with people who are selfless, generous, humble individuals.

Conclusion: Always sleep by keeping your face towards south and legs in North and always try to sleep in Starfish position which is very rare among us.
